Liverpool welcome Chelsea to Anfield with the Reds hoping for a victory to close the gap at the top of the table.

Jose Mourinho's side are locked in a championship battle with Manchester United and Liverpool will be hoping for their first Premiership victory over Chelsea at Anfield since a Michael Owen goal gave the Reds a 1-0 win in October 2002.

Earlier this season a fantastic goal from Didier Drogba gave Chelsea a 1-0 win over Liverpool but Rafael Benitez's side were very unfortunate not to take anything out of the game. Liverpool created some good chances on the day but ended up with nothing to show for their efforts.

The last time Liverpool beat Chelsea at Anfield was of course the unforgettable Champions League semi-final in 2005.
