Tuesday 9 January 2007 19:45 Liverpool welcome Arsenal back to Anfield just a few days after the FA Cup clash for the Carling Cup quarter-final.
This is the re-arranged match aftert thick fog forced the postponement of the game in December.
Arsene Wenger has so far used a young team in the Carling Cup and they have done really well so far with away wins, 2-0 at West Bromwich Albion and 1-0 at Everton.
Arsenal beat Liverpool in the 1987 Littlewoods Cup Final at Wembley when they came from behind to win 2-1 thanks to two goals from Charlie Nicholas. It was also the first time Liverpool had lost a match when Ian Rush had scored.
The Reds beat Arsenal 1-0 at Anfield in 1995 en route to winning the Coca Cola Cup under Roy Evans. |
