Liverpool will be hoping they can maintain their impressive cup form against Chelsea when they travel to Stamford Bridge for a mouthwatering Carling Cup quarter-final tie.
The Reds have held the Indian sign over the Londoners in knockout competitions in the past few seasons and they will be aiming to continue that against new boss Avram Grant and co.
Although Chelsea have suffered at the hands of Liverpool in both the Champions League and the FA Cup, the last time they met in the Carling Cup was in the 2005 final, when Jose Mourinho's men clinched a 3-2 win after extra-time.
This time around the Reds have reached the last eight with an impressive Torres-inspired victory at Reading and a narrow 2-1 win against Robbie Fowler's Cardiff, but there is no doubt a trip to Stamford Bridge will provide our sternest test yet.
Chelsea needed two late goals to edge into this stage after Leicester had looked like causing a massive upset when they led 3-2 with just three minutes remaining.
But it was not meant to be and after Shevchenko levelled, Frank Lampard snatched a winner in injury-time to clinch his hat-trick.
Both sides have strength-in-depth and there are likely to be a number of big names on show as Liverpool aim to snare their first win at Stamford Bridge since Bruno Cheyrou gave Gerard Houllier's men a 1-0 victory in January, 2004.
